Hansuke Consulting Limited ("Hansuke") announces over 50 leading personalities will be participating in its Financial Services Tax Conference 2021 ("FSTC21"). The central theme of the conference is "The Future of Tax".
A diverse range of prominent speakers will be addressing this year's conference including tax officials, political leaders, academics, trade association representatives and private sector firms BlackRock, Franklin Templeton and JP Morgan.
Paul Tang, chair of EU Parliament's tax committee will address the conference, as well as speakers from the IMF, OECD, HM Treasury, Australian Tax Office and United States' Internal Revenue Service.
FSTC21 is being hosted by Hansuke in cooperation with WTS Global, with support from Sovos Compliance and Software Daten Service ("SDS"). The conference calls on members of the financial services tax community to attend and debate the most urgent issues facing them today and the challenges ahead. FSTC21 will be held virtually on 10 and 11 November 2021.
The FSTC21 programme tackles topical themes in financial services taxation, including taxation of cryptoassets, tax ethics, withholding taxes across Europe, the future of asset management, application of blockchain to enable tax reclaims, tax avoidance directives, and much more. Issues such as tax integrity, tax transparency, and ethics of taxation are more important than ever before. We are tabling these issues so that they can be discussed. Roger Kaiser of the European Banking Federation has stated that "Transparency is absolutely pivotal in the support that banks bring to the fight against financial crime and tax evasion".
Ali Kazimi, managing director of Hansuke, states that "financial firms face unprecedented challenges. Tax data leaks, the onset of OECD's minimum corporate income tax regime, greater international coordination by tax authorities to combat tax evasion, coupled with post-covid depleted governmental treasuries heralds a period where we will see higher taxes across the board". Ali added that "race for the bottom is truly over".
The 2-day virtual conference will feature some of the most accomplished tax leaders in their field. In particular, the keynote speakers are Johnathan Schwarz, the leading advisor on international tax treaty issues; Ruud De Mooij, tax advisor at the International Monetary Fund; Paul Tang, the chair of EU Parliament's tax committee; and Will Fitzgibbon, a senior investigative reporter from ICIJ. A complete list of FSTC21 speakers is on the dedicated conference website.
FSTC21 is a free public conference where governments, politicians, business people, academics, experts and civil society come together to tackle international taxation issues. FSTC21 provides an opportunity to participate in cutting edge discussion. Leading journalists and news agencies will be in attendance. To apply for a press pack, simply email [email protected].
