Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], November 21 (ANI): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Modi has no issues to deliberate on but he has only one issue to abuse the grand old party.
Kharge told ANI "Modi ji has no other issues. He(PM) has only one issue is to abuse Congress. We are the people who work on the ground."On the continuous attack by PM Modi on Ashok Gehlot government over the Lal Diary , Kharge said, "Let him say whatever he wants. If Lal Diary had to be opened, it would have been opened in Parliament session. Threatening someone is not a good thing."Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a swipe at Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, calling him a "jaadugar" (magician) and said that his face is fading away with each turning page of the 'red diary'.
Addressing a public rally in Baran's Anta in poll-bound Rajasthan, the PM alleged that there is documentation of how the land, forest and water have been sold during the last five years of Congress' governance in the dairy."Nowadays, there is talk of the Red diary and the Jadugar ji's face is fading away with each turning page of the red diary. In this red dairy, it is clearly written how your land, water and forest have been sold out," the PM said.
Further speaking on the party's manifesto in Rajasthan, Kharge said that especially the poor have been taken care of in the manifesto released today.
"In our manifesto, for the poor, we have decreased the cylinder price from Rs 500 to Rs 400. In Chiranjeevi scheme, Rs 25 lakh has been increased to Rs 50 lakh. If seen overall, the poor have been taken care of," Mallikarjun Kharge said.
Welcoming the DMK's call to support Congress in Telangana, Kharge said that DMK is our alliance party and we welcome their support.
As the Congress launched the party manifesto for the Rajasthan elections, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge attacked Prime Minister Modi claiming that the PM was always abusing him or Rahul Gandhi.
"The Prime Minister has not done any work apart from abusing us in the Congress. He abuses me, Rahul Gandhi, and recently he has started abusing Ashok Gehlot as well. He says that I abused his father. Why would I abuse his father who is not in this world anymore, what right do I have to speak about his father? I myself lost my mother, sister and uncle at a young age. Just me and my father were left. I am telling this to let you know that we do not speak like him (Modi)," Kharge said in a news conference in Jaipur on Tuesday.
Rajasthan is set to undergo assembly polls on November 25, and the counting of votes will be done on December 3.
Of the 200 seats, 199 seats will be contested on November 25 as the Congress candidate for the Karanpur assembly constituency in Rajasthan, Gurmeet Singh Koonar, passed away due to sepsis. The Election Commission, therefore, adjourned elections in the Karanpur assembly constituency.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member House. Gehlot eventually took the oath as CM with the support of BSP MLAs and Independents. (ANI)
